INVITATIONS
I love getting invitations and thoughtfully designed letters, mainly because (1) people no longer take time to send actual letters in the digital age, and (2) when I do receive mail, it is typically junk mail and often lacking in design and/or presentation. I take great pleasure in designing items that other people will enjoy sending and receiving, partly because it is an announcement for fun times to come, but mostly because these pieces are much more exciting to receive among the pile of bills and junk mail.
I also enjoy showing before and after images when possible, because it's hard for some people to envision exactly what their final product will look like when just looking at screen comps. They help show the creative process, and how designers generally think things through from beginning to end.
